Roman coin: silver denarius of Mark Anthony, dating to c.32-31BC. It is Legionary coinage made by a travelling mint. The obverse shows a Galley with banners. It is inscribed [ANT AUG III VIR RPC]. The reverse depicts two Legionary Standards, with a Legionary eagle between them. It is inscribed LEG [XVI]. Crawford, pp. 539-541, No. 544

These coins were struck by Mark Antony for the use of his fleet and legions when he was preparing for the struggle with Octavius, which culminated in the Battle of Actium on the 2nd of September, 31 BC (Grueber, 1970, 526)
