Tinned cast copper alloy double-loop asymmetrical buckle frame. The buckle is sub-rectangular in plan and plano-convex in section. The rectangular loop has a shaped outer edge with three points and a single lateral groove. The rounded end has four oblique lines and a recessed groove on the outer edge. The pin is missing. The surface of the buckle retains some areas of a silvery-coloured layer, suggesting that it was tinned. The frame is 21.5mm in length and 16.6 mm in width and 1.4 mm in thickness. The strap bar is 9 mm in length and 1.4 mm in thickness
Whitehead (1996) illustrates a similar buckle on page 91, no.572 which is dated from 1575-1700.
