Two ceramic body sherds from a Roman Samian ware dating to the period c. AD 43 - 260. The fabric is orange-brown in colour and is fully oxidised with abundant chalk and mica inclusions. Both sherds exhibit a glossy, slightly granular dark red-brown slip. Most of the breaks are relatively fresh, with little sign of abrasion. The fabric is likely to derive from the Central Gaulish Lezoux workshops. Both sherds exhibit old breaks on all edges. All breaks are heavily abraded.
