Roman copper alloy button and loop fastener, 35mm long, 19mm wide and 10mm thick with a weight 6.71 grams. The object consists of an openwork triangular loop with a rectangular cross section. This curves upwards at its apex, forming a short circular sectioned shaft which sits below one end of a sub- circular loop with a semi-circular cross section. Where this joins the shaft, the upper, rounded, surface has a double raised collar running across its width and the opposite end houses a pointed projection which has a raised transverse collar, one end forming the point and the other projecting slightly into the inner hole. This and the opposite collar give the hole a figure of eight shape. The object falls between Wild class II and III. See for comparison, YORYM-B17E6D NMS-A2F35C
