An unidentified object, probably of Post Medieval to modern date (AD 1600 - 1900), but with some similarities to Iron Age material dating from 400 BC - AD 42. It is a solid sub-cuboid shape, made of lead alloy. The cube has slightly convex upper and lower faces and four slightly concave sides with rounded corners, giving the shape a four-lobed appearence. Each of the concave sides is marked with two curved ridges which are integrally moulded. The ridges are curved, being closer together in the centre of the each face and flaring outwards towards the edges. The surface of the object is laminating and much has flaked off the upper and lower faces. There is no clear evidence of attachment, though any may have been obscured by the damage to the upper and lower faces. There is a slight sub-circular depression in the lower face, but this may be damage. The object is 16.2mm long, 16.1mm wide and 15mm thick. It weighs 16.17gm.

The curved line decoration could perhaps suggest an Iron Age date, though this is not certain. More likely is a Post Medieval or Modern pin head or hat-pin head. Compare NLM-0876E6 which is Post Medieval.
