An assemblage of 265 sherds of Roman greyware dating to the period c. AD 43 - 410. The assemblage comprises 45 rim sherds, 206 body sherds and 14 base sherds. At least three fabric types are represented.
<5% of the assemblage is represented by an off-white fabric with a silty texture and abundant mica inclusions.
c. 20% of the assemblage is represented by a hard-fired fabric ranging in colour from dark grey to light grey, with some pieces exhibiting an oxidised red core. It is extremely coarse with abundant red, black and translucent quartz and mica temper.
c. 75% of the assemblage is represented by a light-mid grey fabric, many pieces exhibiting a light grey core. It has a sandy texture and exhibits frequent white and translucent mica inclusions. A number of body sherds from this fabric exhibit bands of grey painted decoration including combinations of straight and wavy lines and some cross-hatching.
Most of the sherds are too fragmentary to suggest a form, however, the rims show a great degree of variety, including, plain, beaded, everted and flanged examples. One rim sherd exhibits a stamped motif consisiting of a series of small recesses separated by grooves.
