Post-medieval copper alloy possible sword belt fitting, a pear-shaped plate with two iron-filled rivet holes and forward-facing hook engraged with a S-shaped round-sectioned loop. Quite similar to Read 2008, no. 787, but without a lobe at the non-hooked end and with an extremely asymmetrical or lop-sided collar above the hook. In addition the plate is cast. Overall length 61.5mm. Length and width of plate 40 and 22.8mm. Mid 16th - 17th century.
