A fragment of a ceramic vessel of Roman date. The vessel is a rim sherd from a local (unsourced) miscellaneous greyware dish/vessel. The fragment is a semi-circular projecting rim. The fabric is fairly hard and gritty with a smooth feel and ribbed effect interior to the curve. It is a mid-grey colour throughout.
The sherd is 94.5mm x 32.5mm x 15.7mm. Weight: 61g. Overall diameter: 36cm (projected using rim chart); approx.9% remaining.
