Silver half groat of the Commonwealth period (1649-1660). Obverse has no legend or initial mark. Shield of St George within a wreath formed of a palm and laurel branch. Reverse also has no legend. Conjoined shield of St George and Ireland with the value mark, II, above. See North 1975, 173, No. 2728). The coin has been bent into an S shape and may have been given as a love token.
