Notes:

Non coin objects:

Pottery vessel
Remains of a Roman globular urn composed of a finely-sorted greyware fabric; highly likely to have formed the container for the coins. A large section of the base is intact and a large number of wall sherds, c.37 in total, although no fragments of the rim remain.

Iron tool
Iron tool (?) or bar: much corroded. This is not diagnostically Roman. L.: 235mm W. of 'blade': 55mm W. of blade end: 45mm Wt.: 887.5g

Lead fragments
Lead 'bloom' from a crucible. This has been analysed (report by Department of Scientific Research, File. No.: 7630-19) and shown to be composed mainly of lead, with no silver content. This is not diagnostically Roman.
L.: 90mm W.: 58mm Wt.: 604.94g
