Very worn Roman brooch fragment, probably dating from the early Roman period, that is the 1st-2nd century AD. Only part of the bow and the head survive. The brooch probably had a hinged mechanism, but the hinge itself and the pin are now missing. The surface of the brooch is very worn and no decoration is apparent: it may have had a head-stud, but that is not certain.
