Copper alloy button. Cast flat discoid button with a probably integrally cast and drilled loop on the back. The front bears a finely incised border of feathered figures possibly executed using a lathe. This shows as if cut through an overall glossy black coating. The finder kindly identifies the object as a 'Tombac' button, though the term refers to a specific alloy rather than a discrete form. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1675-1725.
