A ceramic rim sherd from a wheel thrown Roman Oxfordshire red slipped ware vessel dating to the period c. AD 240 - 410. The fabric is orange in colour with a reduced grey core and a laminar texture. It exhibits occasional white chalk, red iron oxide and frequent mica inclusions. It exhibits traces of a heavily abraded orange-red slip. The rim is heavily damaged and exhibits an abraded dropped flange.
The sherd measures 43.09mm in length, 17.08mm in width, is 15.67mm thick and weighs 8.67g.
