A post-Medieval (17th century) copper alloy, mount. A circular, convex mount with a single integral central pin, on the back. The outer ring (width:2.81mm) is decorated with a moulded design suggestive of rope. Within this are four interconnected and spiralling arms that curve round to lay on the outer curve of the adjacent arm, resulting in teardrop-shaped openwork elements within each spiralled arm. Each arm has a projecting circular knop at the terminal.
