Lead possible weight. Cast cylindrical weight with an off-centre moulded aperture of diameter 12.6mm; patinated overall. The form recalls that of spindle whorls of Walton Rogers form B, with an early medieval to medieval currency. The aperture size and position distinguish this object from other members of that object class. Weights of similar mass from London were considered to possibly respect a medieval Standard but none were perforated. This may have weighted a fishing line, or have been used for some other task. Suggested date: Unknown, 43-1800.
