: Lead spindle whorl. Cast plano-convex whorl with a central moulded aperture of diameter 12.3mm, Walton Rogers form A1. A sunken ring on the flat upper surface may indicate shrinkage during manufacture in an open mould. Patinated overall. Suggested date: Early Medieval, 850-1000.
