Lead palm guard or sailmaker's glove. Cast D shaped plate of slightly plano-convex profile, with two deeply impressed circular patches in its convex side. The other side bears several scratches from what appears to have been a single brief episode of use. An unusually large example. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1800-1900.
