An incomplete post-medieval copper-alloy double-looped sub-annular buckle frame, of which just over half the buckle remains, dating to c. 1650-1720. The frame is oval with a straight central recessed pin bar, creating two D-shaped loops. The frame is undecorated on both faces and the reverse is bevelled on the interior edge. There is iron corrosion product on the pin bar, indicating that this buckle once had an iron pin, which is now missing.

It measures 21.89 mm long, 22.58 mm wide, 2.63 mm thick and weighs 2.9g

A similar frame is illustrated by Whitehead (2003, 48; no. 279) and dated to c. 1650-1720, but without archaeological evidence in support of such dating.

Class: double-looped
