A complete annular single looped Medieval buckle dating to the period c. AD 1270-1400. The undecorated buckle has a plain circular frame and an oval section, with no constriction present for the pin to rest in.The pin itself has been cast with an open loop in order to more easily attach it to the frame and shows a transverse ridge just under the loop.
The buckle is completely undamaged and measures 41.54mm in diameter and 10.56mm in thick, the pin is 41.47 in length and the entire buckle weights 16.44.
Egan illustrates similar buckles (Egan and Pritchard 1991, 58, no. 36) which are dated late 13th-14th century.
