A fragment of a copper alloy unidentified object, probably of Roman to medieval date (AD c.43-c.1540). The fragment is broadly in the shape of a lozenge with one end longer than the other. The shorter end is broken where it would have connected to the rest of the object. The fragment is rectangular in cross-section. The obverse has a setting for enamel which matches the shape of the fragment. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The object has a red-brown patina. The fragment may have come from a harness pendant or a brooch. Overall, the fragment measures 12.2mm long, 9.2mm wide and 2.7mm thick. It weighs 1.06g.
