A complete but broken cast copper alloy Roman finger ring with blue/green glass intaglio of third century date. The finger ring is of Henig (1978) Type VIII. The shoulders of the finger ring are keeled resulting in the interior of the ring being wider than it is deep. A single central raised rib decorates the shoulders, while in plan they are chevroned, away from the bezel into an expanded horizontal collar which separates the bezel from the remainder of the hoop, which is broken towards the base. The oval intaglio is formed of a blue/green glass insert depicting what appears to be a group of four circular objects, possibly fruit or the petals of a flower arranged one-two-one. The intaglio measures 9.36mm long by 7.74mm wide.
