A Roman copper-alloy deliberately cut plate brooch (c. AD 80-250). The brooch was circular in plan and has been decorated with three raised circular ridges, one located along the circumference. The brooch has been cut into a quarter, a deliberate scratch mark is visible which suggests that this brooch has been deliberately mutilated.
To the reverse the brooch is flat, a incomplete lug or catchplate is visible.
The brooch is 20.15mm in surviving length, 17.85mm wide, 3.35mm thick and weighs 3.94 grams.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
