Post-medieval discoidal lead weight, perhaps for ¾ ounce avoirdupois. One face is plain and the other carries an untidily arranged series of small letters, B TA x, the number 8 and an ornate shield with a serrated top and bearing a quatrefoil or cross. Other symbols are illegible, damaged or partly obscured by ?knife cut gashes. Diameter 24.5 - 26.4mm, thickness 4.5mm, weight 21.18g / 0.7470oz. 17th - 18th century.
