A complete copper alloy (possibly brass) medieval thimble, it is dome-shaped in form and has small holes, indicating use with narrow gauge needles. The holes are distributed fairly irregularly in a clockwise spiral, indicating an early date, (AD 1400 -1550). The thimble weighs 6.88g. It has a diameter of 19.8mm at the base and a height of 21.7mm. There are two small notches in the rim of the base, on opposite sides.
