An incomplete copper alloy strap end of medieval period, probably dating to AD c. 1350-1400. The strap end was originally singler sheet folded lenghtways but only one half of the object remains. The plate is rectangular shape with a single rivet still in place. The upper part of the strap end, bent on itself, is decorated with a herringbone motif. The inner part is undecorated. The object is covered with a green patina.
The strap end measures 24.68mm in length, 15.32mm in width, 0.72mm in thick and weights 1.71g.
A similar but undecorated strap end is in Egan, G., Pritchard, F. (1991), p. 131, no. 601.
