A complete but damaged post-Medieval lead alloy two part cloth seal (c. 1600-c. 1700).
This seal is formed by two discs joined by a rectangular tab. One disc had an integral projecting rivet on the inner side, the other a hole through the centre. (The rivet went through the cloth, through the other seal and was stamped flat to hold the seal to the cloth). The front disc has raised capital letters: SS/BAH. The other disc is plain.
The seal is grey with traces of a buff patina.
