Medieval D shaped buckle, 42mm long and 32mm wide. The buckle is in good condition with a green/black patina and weighs 11.58 grams. The buckle has been roughly cast with uneven edges. It consists of a straight shaft 4mm in diameter and 28mm long. From here the buckle turns and widens to form a D shaped loop. At its widest it is 10mm wide and 3mm thick. There is one horizontal incision in the centre of this, forming the pin rest. The buckle is completely undecorated. Is similar to an example found at Meols ( Griffith et al. 2007, 87, pl.13, no 460)
