Three base sherds from different ceramic vessels of Post Medieval date.
1. Dark red, very hard fabric with few visible inclusions. This dark brown to black glaze on both faces. Concave base with kiln stacking scar, rounded projecting corner and inward sloping wall. Base diameter of about 80mm. 31.2mm high. 41.48g. Probably 17th centruy blackware.
2. Yellow grey, hard fabric with sparse brick red (grog) inclusions. Orange red outer face. Traces of a similar colour on the inner face, and of thick black glaze internally, now almost entirely missing. Rounded foot ring and shallow, outward sloping walls. Base diameter about 100mm. 22.2mm high, 8.91g.
3. Yellow grey, hard, fine textured stoneware with few visible inclusions. Horizontal grooves on the outer face. fairy straight walls. Clear glaze on outer face, mottled yellow and brown on the inner face, an a splodge of dark brown to black glaze on the base. Insufficient outer edge surviving to estimate base diameter. 43.6mm long, 13.4mm high and 6.2g.
