A cast copper alloy buckle of medieval date. The oval single loop buckle has an integrally cast forked spacer, onto which separate plates (now missing) were soldered. The outer edge of the frame has a pointed lip with a deep groove to form the pin rest. The frame is bevelled. There is a constriction for the attachment of the (missing) pin at the back. Behind the buckle is a rectangular element with a stepped aperture, flanked by the prongs of the fork. The prongs are straight and square-sectioned. The back is flat and undecorated. Dimension: 60.21mm x 29.70mm x 4.31mm. Weight: 9.43g.
