The object is possibly a fragment of kiln furniture. In plan it is a sub-rectangle with one terminal is slightly flattened both terminals are broken. In section it is a rectangle with rounded corners.

It appears to be made of a highly fired ceramic fabric. It is slightly discoloured on one side, which is a light red/brown colour compared to the yellow/cream colour of the majority of the surface. There are possibly splashes of an opaque off-white glaze.

The date is unknown.
