A lead zoomorphic button, of medieval or post-medieval period. The front is decorated in the shape of an animal head, possibly a lion, with prominent snout surrounded by what it seems to be a thick mane.
The animal's face is defined by two big brows that frame the eyes and reach the nose. The wide snout fiils completely the lower part of the head. The external edge of the object is decorated with a set of grooves and ridges which create a sort of mane or hair. The back part, undecorated, is divided by two deep grooves crossing at right angle at the shank point. The loop has been folded and broken.
The object measures 27.15mm in length, 23.50mm in width, 9.67mm in thick and weights 30.07g.
