An Cordate flint handaxe of Palaeolithic date (800,000 - 40,000 BC). The Axe has convex sides and the butt-end is wider than the cutting-end. It has a pointed oval cross section. The flint is pale grey to oragne in colour with no cortext remaining. The fint has a glossy patina.
The implement has been bifacially worked, both faces appareing to have had equale work with all over with multi-directional flake removals, tending towards the edges.
The hand axe is 107.3mm long, 88.1mm wide, 31.3mm thick and weighs 280grams.
