A complete flint awl of Mesolithic date (9000-3450 BC). The lithic is sub-rectangular in profile and flat in section. Both the dorsal and ventral surfaces feature minor negative scars with corresponding arrises. It appears that the lithic has been retouched along both edges to form a point at the distal edge. The lithic retains no cortex and is therefore a tertiary flake.
The lithic is predominantly cream in colour with grey inclusions throughout.
