Copper alloy sub-oval strap mount that is in the shape of an acorn. The rounded bottom half is decorated with a cross-hatched pattern with a short bifurcated rod at the base, this represents the cup. The top half is undecorated except for a small round knop at its apex, and forms the nut of the acorn. Two curved, pointed lugs on the reverse for attachment. Date 17th century.
