Grey-buff flint leaf arrowhead. A large flat ogival arrowhead with a rounded base. Both sides bear fine angled scalar covering retouch. Dense white patina suggests the object endured a long period of exposure after its deposition. The tip is lost to a more recent break; this was adventitious damage as it interrupts patina. The broad bladed form would be ideal for a hunting arrowhead intended to promote blood loss from the quarry, to weaken it and to facilitate pursuit with hunting dogs. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC.
