A complete medieval to post-medieval bi-faced lead token dating to the period circa AD 1300 - 1700. Powell Type 5 depicting anchor/reverse unclear.
The metal is a dark grey colour and is worn. The token is 15.7mm in diameter, 2.5mm thick and weighs 2.3g.
Tokens with simple designs are very easy to make and continued in use for a long period. They have a huge range of designs which were not necessarily related to function and could have been used for various purposes such as counting, gaming, farm or tavern tokens or possibly even as weights.
