Copper alloy mount fragment. Terminal from a flat mount of probably trefoil or fleur de lis form (one lobe or petal lost), with a central drilled fixing hole of diameter 2mm. The worn relicts of an incised scheme of decoration include an adjacent straight line and curved line springing from a point beyond the broken end; the break falls at the edge of a larger aperture with a curved edge. This object may have served as a book fitting or casket decoration. Suggested date: Late Medieval, 1350-1500.
