Medieval copper alloy buckle. Rectangular plate, folded widthways, recessed for frame, slot for pin. A fragment of the pin and bar survive, the rest of the frame is missing. Three rivets, one behind the slot and two (one now missing) at the attachment edge. The back-plate is narrower than the front-plate and broken transversely. The front-plate is decorated with an engraved line following the edge and very slight traces of gilding visible through heavy corrosion. Length 36mm. Width 12.5mm. Circa 13^th - 14^th century.
