Incomplete Roman copper alloy Aucissa brooch in corroded and abraded condition, rolled head, transverse grooved mouldings on the head and at the top of the foot. The bow tapers downwards and is of flattish D-section with central ribbed moulding between broad flanking grooves. Foot with fully-round foot knob and catchplate on reverse. Length 55mm. Width of head 13mm. Width at junction of bow and foot 7mm. The Aucissa does not commonly occur in East Anglia (Mackreth 2011, 133). Mid 1st century.
