A complete copper alloy medieval or post-medieval double-loop buckle. Both loops are oval-shaped with a thickened outer edge and a narrower central strap bar. The outer face is rounded and the reverse flat. The pin is missing. The surface of the metal is heavily corroded.
Similar simple double loop buckles are illustrated by Egan and Pritchard (1991, 83, fig.50) from a late 13th and 14th century contexts in London and several very similar examples are also illustrated by Margeson (1993, 30, fig.16, nos.168-173) from excavations in Norwich, all from post-medieval contexts, suggesting that this simple form was used for a long period.
