A complete cast lead alloy uniface token dating from the Medieval to Post Medieval period, c. AD 1250-1800. Powell class 9. One face of the token is completely blank, but the other face has been decorated with a six-spoked centrifugal design. The token is slightly bent in several places and demonstrates an even brownish grey patina, although the design demonstrates some wear to its upper surfaces. The token is 18.34mm in diameter, 1.93mm thick and weighs 4.02 grammes.

Notes:

Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were easy to manufacture and circulate; they are therefore difficult to date exactly but those with simple designs are given a wider date range of Medieval to Post Medieval.

Class: Powell Type 9
