Lead ampulla that has a circular chamber and short, truncated rectangular neck. Flanking the top of the neck are the remains of the angled handles, but both are now truncated. The top of the neck appears to have been cut/chopped off at a slight angle, the aperture if the vessel has then been filled with a rolled sheet lead plug. The removal of the neck has also resulted in the loss of the top portion of the handles. The circular chamber is decorated on one side with horizontal, slightly radiating lines that corm a scallop shell motif. While on the other side is a crowned S within a crosshatched circular panel.
The latter possibly relates to Our Lady of Sudbury, a minor cult (Spencer 1971, 64). See WILT-92A8C4, SF-FEB4DB and WILT-1128AE for other similar examples.
