Possibly a post-medieval beggar's token dating from the 16th or 17th century. The token is flat circular with a perforation for suspension towards the edge. The reverse is plain but on the obverse it is decorated with moulded decoration resembling a clockface. There is illegible writing in the outer circle, possibly made up of Vs and Is and what looks like the capital letter 'H' in the centre. Normally beggar's tokens are made from copper alloy or lead alloy but would have more official stamps and dates on the obverse. The illegible writing on the obverse token which rembles an old-fashioned clock-face could also suggest an alternative interpretation as a toy pocket watch.
