A complete but worn cast copper alloy decorative belt mount of early post-medieval date.The mount is elongated pointed-oval in shape with a slightly domed upper and hollow underside; at either end of the mount on the underside are two, now incomplete, integrally cast spikes that would have been inserted through the leather strap then folded over to secure the mount in place. This technique of attachment to the strap is common on early post-medieval mounts, although the plain pointed-oval design is unusual. Length 23.4 mm, width 11.4 mm, thickness 3.8 mm, weight 3.2 g.
