Incomplete copper alloy clog clasp, Post Medieval, dating AD1701-1900. The clasp is rectangular in shape with quatrefoil scalloped sides. At either end are two lugs, both folded over towards the back. The shorter lug seems worn and incomplete, while the second lug is T shaped. The clasp would have been decorated but is no longer visible due to corrosion and the devleopment of a green patina.
The clasp is 4.48g, 30.39mm length, 15.32mm width
Similar shaped clasp examples are recorded on the database YORYM-7B9A43, CORN-5D98F6. Read (2001) illustatres a variety of clog clasps (p.14-17)
