An incomplete copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild Class II of Roman date. The head is a pointed ovate ring with an integral raised circular boss within to one side. A shank extends straight down from the reverse of the boss and terminates in a worn break.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The button and loop fastener is 30mm long, 24mm wide and weighs 9.11g.
Button and loop fasteners such as this are of Wild's Class II and date to the late 1st to 2nd century AD.
