A fragment of a Bronze Age copper-alloy ingot.
The piece is irregular in plan but retains part of its convex outer edge. The upper and lower surfaces are both convex and slope downwards, towards this outer edge. The casting contains large air pockets.
Length: 50mm; width: 42.1mm; thickness: 25mm. Weight: 224.81g.
This piece is typical of the fragments of circular ingot commonly found associated with hoards of the Middle to Late Bronze Age. Comparable fragments include PAS record BH-09D254 and Treasure case 2012 T286 (BH-6FF1F3), a hoard of 14 such pieces from Sarratt, Hertfordshire.
