A medieval Arabic coin: a fragment of a dirham probably dating from the 7th-9th Century. Other dirhams found in/near this area are SWYOR-879A35, SWYOR-8797D2, SWYOR-5667E6 and SWYOR-89C183, so this example is probably of a similar date. Other such coins have been found with other objects which suggest an Early Medieval trading site, and so this fragment is probably an ancient loss.
The coin is 13.7mm long, 11mm wide and 1mm thick. 0.6g. The coin is worn and little detail remains.
