Silver coin. Possibly a penny of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066), cf. Spink (2004) nos 1173 and 1183 for possibly similar features. The size and mass would be more apt to a worn halfpenny. The finder kindly drew attention to such features as may be discerned.
Obverse description: possibly bust left; two layers of a crown and a segment of the line defining an outer circle appear.
Reverse description: possibly a small central cross; segment of outer circle.
Diameter: 15.9mm, Weight: 0.47gms.
