Roman copper alloy plate brooch in the form of a hare, with most of the hinged pin missing. Mackreth 2011, OBJECT 3c. There is a double pin lug and iron spindle. The body is decorated with three enamel inlaid cells, blue, uncertain colour, blue. The eye is represented by a reserved dot within a circular cell of blue. The ear is grooved. The arrangement of the enamelling is similar to ibid., pl. 125, no. 8086, the pin of which is sprung. Length 29mm. Width 11.4mm. 2nd century.
